New Zealand has opted to keep its flag

NEW ZEALAND has voted to keep its flag in a historic referendum in which the public decisively rejected its Prime Minister’s proposal to abandon a 114-year-old emblem.  In a 57 to 43 per cent vote, the public opted to keep the original flag rather than adopt a new flag, the Silver Fern.
